Sports Brothers Report:
As we approach fantasy football season, fans are clamoring to their favorite publications or websites to view this year’s fantasy rankings and cheat sheets. Among most of the Top 10 Quarterback Rankings I have reviewed, including my own, sits Cam Newton. Positional I have him ranked No. 6, and No. 17 overall. He’s just ahead of Matthew Stafford, and just behind Matt Ryan. At face value, this ranking seems about right. In the overall rankings, he is just ahead of Alfred Morris, and just behind Brandon Marshall. Again, seems to be an okay spot for Newton. It could be a little high, depending on the scoring system used. ESPN has Cam as the No. 5 projected QB.I was betting on Newton to continue his upward stat production, but I did so with a nervous anticipation that he could regress to his first eight game production of a year ago. If the past two seasons have taught Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera anything, it's the importance of starting fast.
The Panthers stumbled out of the blocks the last two seasons, going 1-5 in 2011 and 1-6 last year. The slow starts cost general manager Marty Hurney his job.
By midseason the Panthers have been out of the playoff hunt, so it hardly matters that they've...
LOOKING FORWARD TO IT
If and when the day comes when the NFL will start conducting HGH testing on players, Panthers linebacker Jon Beason is one player who will be happy about it.
Carolina's Ryan Kalil isn't about to say anything that can be construed as a Super Bowl prediction.
Not after last year.
The Panthers three-time Pro Bowl center created a stir days before the start of training camp last year when he took out a full page advertisement in the Charlotte Observer and wrote about the Panthers being ''Super Bowl XLVII champions!'...
The Carolina Panthers have waived injured wide receiver Lamont Bryant who began camp injured and very well could end up spending the whole year on the injured reserve.
In corresponding moves, the Panthers also signed offensive lineman Garrett Chisolm and wide receiver Dominique Curry to help add depth to their training camp roster.

The Carolina Panthers Greg Olsen and the Tennessee Titans Jonathan Willard are blue-collar NFL players, but at least for a day they were real life superheroes.

We reported yesterday that the NFL and the NFLPA are getting closer to agreeing on HGH testing.
Panthers linebacker Jon Beason told the NFL Network that he’s looking forward to being tested for HGH.
“For me, I’m happy. I don’t take that stuff, so I’m more than happy to do it. The guys who are taking it, now if they get caught it’s an even playing field,” Beason said...
With training camps ready to kick off around the NFL, intrigue surrounds a handful of starting quarterbacks. Here’s a closer look at three rather polarizing signal callers.
Even if the Panthers match their 2012 season and amass another 7-9 record, Newton will head into 2014 as Carolina’s starting quarterback. Nobody will fault Newton if he can’t out-duel Matt Ryan...
