Found January 30, 2012 on Inside The Panthers:
With his rookie season over, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton apparently is doing more national media. Newton, who limited his media availability during his first NFL season, will be among four of the league's biggest personalities featured on SportsCenter Special: NFL Face to Face with Hannah Storm at 9 p.m. Tuesday  on ESPN2. The one-hour special will include interviews with Newton, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and Colts owner Jim Irsay. In the segment with Newton, Storm visits the Welcome All Park outside of Atlanta where Newton began his football career as a youth. An ESPN release says Newton apologizes during the piece for his behavior after the Panthers' loss at Atlanta -- where Newton left the field without shaking hands with anyone -- and discusses the criticism he faced prior to last year's draft. Storm also broaches the subject of Cecil Newton's pay-for-play scheme when Newton was leaving junior college, a...

Cam Newton Pro Bowl performance: Ugh

Cam Newton won't lose the Rookie of the Year Award based on his Pro Bowl performance in the AFC's 59-31 win, but he didn't win over any of his critics, either. Playing the entire second half Sunday in relief of Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, Newton completed just 9-of-27 passes for 186 yards, with three interceptions -- including one that was returned for a touchdown....

INDIANAPOLIS As his Pro Bowl performance showed – albeit in an exhibition where the intensity level ebbed and flowed like the Pacific tides – Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is not yet a finished product. 2011 Carolina Pantehrs news and notes

I think the Carolina Panthers took a big step in 2011. In 2010 they were a disaster at 2-14. They finished 2011 6-10, and may have found their QB of the future. Their new head coach has them headed in the right direction and now they need to add to the talent level of both the offense and the defense. I think the defense needs the most work at this point, but there is something to...

Saints Nation: Saints Players Make Splash in Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl has mercifully ended in a 59-41 AFC win and the Saints players that were involved all had notable moments. The NFC coaches decide to leave Cam Newton in for the entire second half, and he was an absolute disaster out there. He was horribly inaccurate with his throws, his footwork was terrible, he threw three miserable interceptions, and he struggled to shake off the...

Carolina Panthers Change Logo

For the first time in franchise history, the Carolina Panthers have changed up their logo. The Panthers joined the league in 1995 and decided it was time to make a slight change. The new logo is a much crisper take on their original logo and frankly it looks a lot better. With 2011 first overall pick Cam Newton leading the team last season, the Panthers are coming along nicely with their

Spreading the Wealth: What Teams Could Adopt the Spread Offense in 2012

“Conventional knowledge” has always said that the spread offenses featured in the college game would never work in the NFL. However, the Denver Broncos, under Coach John Fox, proved different this year. The Broncos adopted the new system to better compliment quarterback Tim Tebow and ended up winning the AFC West and upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wildcard round of...

Ron Rivera’s rookie season was a beauty. He game-planned Cam Newton into the best rookie quarterback ever and re-energized a franchise that was reeling after a terrible season the year before.
