Found April 20, 2012 on It's Always Sunny in Detroit:
PLAYERS: Cam Newton
TEAMS: Carolina Panthers

Photo of Cam Newton challenging Calvin Johnson in the Madden cover competitionMuch like Rob Gronkowski two weeks ago, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is going all out to get himself on the Madden 13 cover.  Newton has gone the way of Gronk and made a public service announcement on YouTube promoting his candidacy.  And again, much like Gronk, Newton’s plea comes off much like how your pup looks begging for your dinner.

Calvin Johnson did his little media circuit (because he has to) and politely asked that fans vote for him (because he has to).  ”One, you’ve never seen a Detroit player on the cover,” he said. “Two, it would be huge for the city. You can only imagine. Then, after that, it gives a lot to my foundation and my charities I work with back home and in Detroit.”  Per usual, Calvin isn’t about himself but rather the city of Detroit and his charities.

Cam Newton and Gronk wanted to see their mugs on the cover because they can’t get enough of themselves.  Here’s Newton’s much-too-long plea for Calvin and fans to contact him to play a game of Madden.  While the idea might be alright, the pitch is beyond terrible.

Like I’ve been preaching, go on and vote for Newton. After watching this diarrhea of the mouth, I wouldn’t mind Newton being the focus of the Madden jinx this season.

Cam Newton calls out Megatron

Cam Newton, the popular Carolina Panthers quarterback, has challenged Calvin Johnson to a duel, so to speak.  In a video posted earlier today, Newton challenges the Detroit Lions wide receiver, also known by his nickname, “Megatron,” to a game of Madden to determine who should grace the cover of the latest edition of the popular interactive football game. With only a few more...

Panthers GM Hurney: Trading down an option, not up

General manager Marty Hurney says the Panthers will entertain offers to trade down from the ninth pick in next week's NFL draft, but the team has no interest in moving up. The Panthers don't have much ammunition to trade up after dealing this year's third-round draft pick to the Chicago Bears last season in exchange for tight end Greg Olsen. Hurney says because of the...

Is Robert Griffin III a selfish player?

Is Robert Griffin III a selfish player? Griffin was hit with a label this week of being “Selfish”. A scout stated this when referring to Griffin; “He’s got a little bit of a selfish streak, too” when speaking to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. This is the same scout who scrutinized Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton for having the same personality trait prior to last...
