Found November 30, 2011 on Inside The Panthers:
Cam Newton was at dinner Tuesday night when a young boy shyly approached his table. After Newton put the boy at ease, the visitor had a question for Newton. “He's like, man, Cam, why you throw so many interceptions?” Newton said Wednesday. Newton is tied for third in the NFL with 14 interceptions – behind Philip Rivers (17) and Josh Freeman (16), whose Bucs play host to Carolina this weekend. Tampa Bay (4-7) has lost six of their last seven games, and have one of the league's worst defenses. But Newton said the Bucs' secondary, led by 36-year-old safety Ronde Barber, will present a challenge. He said when most defenses play man coverage, the cornerbacks play off. Not Tampa's. “They press you. They're basically saying our guys are better than your guys,” Newton said. “But the one thing I see about Barber is he might be old, but my man is playing with the best of them and he's smart. He's going to outsmart you. He watches film. It's evident watching him...

Qs at QB as Bucs prep for Carolina, Newton

TAMPA, Fla. -- The much-anticipated Josh vs. Cam Show is definitely going to take place Sunday. Its only a question now of which Josh the Bucs will start against the Carolina Panthers and hotshot rookie quarterback Cam Newton. Josh No. 1, as in starting quarterback Freeman, has been nursing a sore right shoulder ever since the botched sneak last Sunday on the final play of the game...

Steve Grogan Not Bothered As Cam Newton Approaches His Single-Season Touchdown Record

Former Patriots quarterback Steve Grogan has gotten used to watching his records fall, as Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady have torched the franchise's all-time numbers over the last two decades. But now, Grogan knows his most prominent NFL record is in jeopardy. Grogan, whose 12 rushing touchdowns in 1976 were the most ever by a quarterback, has watched Panthers rookie Cam Newton...

Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith Calls Cam Newton Third Best QB With Whom He Has Played

Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith said that current rookie QB Cam Newton is only the third best quarterback with whom he has played. Even though the Heisman Trophy winner and National Champion is having one of the greatest rookie seasons in the history of the game, Smith still said that his young signal caller has a lot to learn. Smith: Newton third-best Panthers QB with whom I've played

Steve Smith likes Cam Newton, but the rookie has some work to do before the star receiver will consider him a better Panthers QB than Jake Delhomme or even Vinny Testaverde.

Steve Smith on Vinny, Jake and Cam

Yes, Steve Smith said this week that Cam Newton is the third-best quarterback he's played with, behind Jake Delhomme and Vinny Testaverde. No, Smith was not dissing Newton, the No. 1 overall pick whose arrival in Charlotte has helped rejuvenate Smith's career. Smith was merely giving props to guys who had long, productive careers. (Delhomme's was extended this week when...

NFL Picks: Week 13

Eagles over the SeahawksThis is probably a crazy pick since the Eagles are a mess and they have to go cross country to Seattle to play. Not an easy place to win even when you have a superior team. Panthers over the BucsI'm fairly disappointed in the development of Josh Freeman this year. He's regressed from last season. In fact it seems like everybody has regressed in Tampa...
