Found December 11, 2012 on Football Nation:
At 4-9, the Carolina Panthers’ season looks far different now than most fans would have imagined in August.  Coming off a 2011 season that was full of improvement and optimism, the sky was the limit for the Panthers.  Cam Newton, a rookie quarterback, was the team’s most valuable player, and he proved to be the centerpiece of the organization moving forward.  The Panthers went from a 2-14 team in 2010 to a 6-10 team in 2011.  Many supporters believed the 2012 season could bring 9, 10, or even 11 wins.   Center Ryan Kalil went so far as to write a letter to fans in the Charlotte Observer guaranteeing that Carolina would be playing in the Super Bowl. The reality is, at 4-9, the Carolina Panthers are struggling.  An important fact to recognize is that this team would be far worse without Cam Newton at quarterback.  He has fulfilled his role of stabilizing the passing game for the Panthers.  He has excelled, and he has improved. The most critical gauge for a player’s continuing success i...

Panthers' patience pays off with LB Davis

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The 2009 football season might as well be an eternity ago for Thomas Davis. It was the first of many frustrating years for Davis, beginning a trend that many around the Carolina Panthers organization didnt think would end positively for the well-liked and respected linebacker out of Georgia But when Matt Ryans pass that was intended for wide receiver Roddy White...

Coach: Rookie LB Kuechly Panthers' defensive QB

Panthers' rookie linebacker Luke Kuechly has grown accustomed to winning awards and with the way he's currently playing more could soon be on the way. Kuechly leads the NFL with 131 tackles and is making a strong push for defensive rookie of the year honors. Kuechly had 16 tackles this past Sunday as the Panthers held the Falcons to 35 yards rushing in a 30-20 victory earning...

Cam Newton has 72-yard touchdown against Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons went down to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, 30-20. One of the most spectacular plays came from spohmore QB Cam Newton. Newton had a rocky start to his second year in the NFL but has come on as of late. This 72-yard touchdown was surely a sweet reminder that Cam Newton shouldn’t [...]

Week 15 NFL Picks Not Buying Falcons, But Also Not Sold on Cam Newton’s Panthers (Podcast)

There are only so many chances you can give a team, especially if that team is the Atlanta Falcons. One week after holding off a late push from the New Orleans Saints, the Falcons went on the road looking to send a message against the lowly Carolina Panthers. Instead, the Panthers drubbed the Falcons, with Cam Newton running wild over a defenseless Atlanta defense. The Falcons lost...

Newton, Panthers heating up a little too late

Quarterback Cam Newton and the Panthers offense are finally in a groove. Too bad for Carolina it's a case of too little, too late. At 4-9, Carolina's playoff aspirations evaporated several weeks ago, but Newton's vastly improved play in recent weeks gives promise that his stellar rookie season with the Panthers in 2011 was far from a fluke. After a rough start this...

Panthers LB after win: 'Get the **** off our field!'

A couple weeks back in Week 4 when Matt Ryan told the Carolina Panthers to "get the **** off of his field," Pathers defensive end Greg Hardy took notice.  Yesterday the Panthers gave the Falcons a little pay back and beat them 30-20 on their home turf.  Greg Hardy thought it would be a perfect chance to tell them to "get the **** off the field."   Nothing...

Greg Hardy to Falcons: ‘Get the f*ck off our field’

Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy felt pretty good about Carolina’s 30-20 victory over the Falcons on Sunday. Especially since he stated before the game that the Panthers are a better team than the Falcons. Hardy felt so good about the win that after the game, he went to every Falcons player that would listen and told them to “get the f*ck off our field.” The comments...

Video: Punter trumps Greg Hardy in trash talk

You may have heard Carolina Panthers linebacker screaming at the Atlanta Falcons to get off field in Charlotte. Of course, he said it with a much more colorful adjective. He screamed it repeatedly as the players were, in fact, leaving the field. It was probably one of the bigger wins of the season for the [...]

Panthers Ground Falcons, Postpone No. 1 Seed Clinching

Cam Newton and the Panthers controlled every aspect of the game this past Sunday.Newton had quite possibly his best game as a pro.He threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns while adding another 116 yards on the ground with another touchdown. Cam led his Panthers to their first victory over the Falcons since 2009 and showed Panthers fans that they do have a reason to be excited for...

Panthers DE Greg Hardy: Matt Bryant is small and weird-shaped

Following the Carolina Panthers’ 30-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Carolina defensive end Greg Hardy had some unfriendly words for the Falcons players when telling them to get off the field. Hardy made the comments as a direct response to Matt Ryan, who the Panthers say was disrespectful to them after the two teams met earlier this season. As you can see in this video...

Newton, Panthers starting to hit their stride

After struggling to score points and move the chains for much of the season, the Carolina Panthers' offense has suddenly hit its stride. Too bad it's too late in the year to make a difference. At 4-9 the Panthers won't be playing in the postseason, which makes Carolina's 30-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday a little bittersweet. ''This shows what...

Sunday Wrap Up

Broncos def. Raiders: The Broncos just never seem to be able to completely blow away a crappy opponent. The Raiders are awful, I expected much more out of Manning. Panthers def. Falcons: The Falcons have quickly become very mediocre as 11 win teams go. I know Cam Newton has really heated up at the end of the season, but this defense can't allow a quarterback to pick them...
