The Seahawks donned shoulder pads for the evening practice, their third workout in two days. RB Justin Forsett laid a lick on LB David Hawthorne during one-on-one blitz pick-up drills. It was the kind of hit that makes you stop, not just as an observer, but as a blitzer. Forsett knocked Hawthorne backward into offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, no small feat since Hawthorne's got a reputation for his hitting ability. It's why Lofa Tatupu calls him "The Heater."
S C.J. Wallace also put a pop on TE Joe Newton, but it was a little late in the play and sparked some spirited chirping between the offense and defense. The guidelines for observing practice prohibit quoting players from the field, which prevents a reconstruction of a thoroughly entertaining back-and-forth between safeties Deon Grant and Brian Russell, receiver Nate Burleson and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
