Defensive end Calais Campbell has agreed to terms on a five-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. Terms of the deal were not immediately known. The Cardinals placed the franchise tag on Campbell on March 2, ensuring his return to the team for the 2012 season at a price of 10 million. Campbell (6-8, 300) is coming off his best professional season in 2011. He started all 16 games and registered career bests in tackles (73, including 51 solos) and sacks (a team-leading eight). He also forced two fumbles, had 11 pass deflections, one fumble recovery, his first career interception and three blocked field goals. He's led the team in sacks for the past three years. He is also active in the community, earning the team's NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year nomination for 2011. Campbell, 25, was a second-round draft pick out of Miami in 2008. He's made 46 starts and recorded 21 sacks and 215 tackles in his career.
