Camryn Bynum's wife finally got to see him play on Sunday
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Vikings safety Camryn Bynum's wife Lalaine was finally able to attend a game and watch her husband play for the first time ever on Sunday. And to make it even better, she got to see a Minnesota victory.

Lalaine hasn't been able to come over from the Philippines to see a game due to visa issues. After his two-interception game against the 49ers on Monday Night Football a few weeks ago, Bynum used his postgame interviews to ask for help getting his wife to the United States. That sparked the process of getting it worked out. Lalaine arrived in the U.S. last Sunday and was in attendance at U.S. Bank Stadium as the Vikings beat the Saints 27-19.

Bynum appeared to get an interception in the fourth quarter, which would've made for a great Hollywood story. To celebrate, he ran over and gave the ball to Lalaine in the stands. But after a review, it was ruled that the ball hit the ground for an incompletion.

Still, this was an awesome day for Bynum and his whole family.

"I still had fun handing her the ball," he said. "Once I was able to have that game on the Monday night game and be able to make it public, so many people reached out to help. So many parties — the senator's office, a Minnesota organization that helped us with it, even the embassy in the Philippines."

Bynum didn't tell his teammates that his wife was in attendance until they were running out of the tunnel. They were thrilled for him.

"Oh my gosh, amazing," fellow safety Josh Metellus said. "I think the DB room was more happy than him. We've been wanting this for him ever since they've been together. For her to finally be out here and watch her first NFL football game and watch him play — it sucks that they didn't give him the pick, but it's amazing. I'm love guy. I love love. So stuff like that always makes me happy."
