In order for the Philadelphia Eagles to be successful in 2012 they will need their dual-threat gunslinger Michael Vick behind center for all 16 games of the regular season. Unfortunately, that is something that has been a rare occurrence in Vick’s nine-year NFL career. Vick has played in 16 games just once in that time, his final season in Atlanta. In fact, Vick is currently the seventh most injury prone quarterback in the NFL behind only Sam Bradford, Matt Photo Credit: Patrick McDermott/Getty Images Schaub, Colt McCoy, Alex Smith, Kevin Kolb and Matthew Stafford. Vick is an evident boost for the Eagles, boasting a 15-9 record as a starter with the team. All hope for the Eagles’ 2011 campaign was lost when they lost their lethal quarterback. While he was not fantastic, the way Philadelphia finished out the season shows a healthy Vick likely would have meant another playoff appearance for Andy Reid and his team. If the Eagles wish to return to the postseason in 2012, they will—again...

Michael Vick: I was more dedicated to studying dogs than the Falcons playbook

Depending on who you ask, Michael Vick is either an athlete who carries a tremendous comeback story around with him or nothing more than a multimillionaire who abuses animals. Some people feel that Vick did his time in prison and learned something from his experiences, while others feel that he can never be forgiven. Vick talks about all that and more...

Michael Vick on his past: “I became better at reading dogs than reading defenses”

Getty Images Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is coming out with a book entitled Finally Free, and in it he talks about where his mind was at during his dog fighting days. “Back when I was involved in those activities, I may have become more dedicated to the deep study of dogs than I was to my Falcons playbook,” Vick said via the USA Today. “I became better at reading...

Today Show shows video of Jerrod Johnson instead of Mike Vick

Getty Images Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick appeared on NBC’s Today Show to promote his upcoming book entitled Finally Free. During Vick’s interview with Matt Lauer, NBC showed some footage of quarterback Jerrod Johnson throwing the football during practice.  I’m not sure if NBC thinks all black quarterbacks look alike and got confused.  But it’s not a good...

‘Today Show’ Confused By Black QBs Mike Vick & Jerrod Johnson B-Roll Tape

Mike Vick is getting one final PR road trip in before training camp opens this Sunday in Lehigh, PA. Today’s stop was at NBC for the ‘Today Show.’ Just your normal Q&A with Matt Lauer. You know the themes: dog fighting, redemption, large contract, forgiveness, redemption. And then the director called for the Mike Vick b-roll. Wait, WTF is that? A black QB throwing with...

The Today Show Is RAYCESS

Michael Vick is on a book tour promoting “Finally Free”, an autobiography in which he goes into detail about that thing he did. So far we know that Vick mentions in the book that he spent more time studying dogs than opposing defenses, to the surprise of no one. In another interview he claims he only did a book because he’s bored. That’s so Ookie. LOVE this: “The origin...

Falcons Among the Most Snakebitten NFL Franchises?

I was channel surfing on Sunday afternoon and came across the NFL Network and a program that they were showing called "Top 10 Most Snakebitten Franchises". I had a feeling that our Falcons might be on the list (especially if they are looking at the recent past with Mike Vick and Bobby Petrino) so I hit record so I could check it out later. Not surprisingly the Falcons did...

Vince Young vid shown during Vick interview

Hey Today Show, wrong QB!

Well, the producer that put this through might need surgery to take the foot out of his mouth. On NBC’s Today Show this morning, they had a small hiccup with a film reel showing an Eagles QB hurling the ball during an interview with Michael Vick.  Unfortunately (for NBC’s sake), the video was of Vince Young not Vick.  It is safe to say that the two most obvious cues of the...

2012 Training Camp Preview: Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles training camp previewTRAINING CAMP GOALS 1. Determine the identity of their No. 2 quarterback. Michael Vick will head into the season as the team's starter. But Vick has missed three games in each of the last two seasons, and his reckless style of play and body type -- he's a hair under 6-0 and weighs just 210 pounds -- makes it unlikely he'll make it to the...

Monday Morning NFL News

Monday Morning News and LinksWhy are we dancing this morning? Well, the countdown to NFL Training Camp is very close. Training camp means NFL news, which then means Fantasy News, which then leads to NFL Pre-season. Things look dull now, but it’s the calm before the storm. Unsigned Baltimore Ravens franchise player Ray Rice remains “optimistic” the sides will reach a long-term...

2012 Fantasy Football Preview: Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterbacks   Those hoping for a repeat performance from Comeback Player of the Year Michael Vick in 2011 were a tad disappointed.   After playing himself into Kevin Kolb’s starting role in 2010, leading the Eagles to their third straight playoff appearance, Vick would go 3-6 in his first nine games in 2011, throwing as many touchdowns (11) as he did interceptions. Despite averaging...
