Mike Devito and Sione Pouha are gone. Laron Landry is visiting the Colts and the impending doom that Revis Island is on his way out hangs over the fan base like a guillotine. David Garrard is now a Jet. Affordable “Upside potential” players like Mike Goodson and Brandon Gibson are coming to visit. That may not enough for some Jet fans but they better get used to it. Rebuilding is rarely smooth, sexy, and successful in the immediate. We wonder if Jets fans, many of whom realize the need to tear things apart, have the stomach for what is going to be a no nonsense, yet no frills ground-up repair. When you get a taste of the high life for many it’s hard to go back to the old routine. For the Jet fan, two knocks on the Super Bowl doorstep followed by a plummeting descent could make it harder. Restructuring deals and watching big name vets walk is not nearly as fun as being in the buyers market. Percy Harvin moved to Seattle Mike Wallace landed in Miami. Other proven playmakers will soon change addresses too. Jets fans will have to hope that the speed, agility and athleticism that Idzik seeks to acquire, for a fast paced vision that works within the budget, will one day blossom. We wonder what the pain threshold for the diehards will be this time around. Now that a quick fix and a cheap media sell are no longer part of the gameplan anymore in Florham Park.

Jets turn to craig’s list for signal callers

It’s gotten bad for the Jets. We’ve tried to look away, but there’s just so much wreckage. It’s OK. It’s going to be like Sandy and the Mets. Resign yourself to a few years of pain in the hopes of a brighter tomorrow. Besides all the free agent defections, and the lack of any significant signings , the quarterback situation continues to cause angst. It’s really bad. We...
