Hunter Cantwell played as well as he could in the Ravens’ 21-7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons Thursday night. But the quarterback said he’s not sure if he did enough to cement a spot on the team’s 53-man roster – even with rookie Tyrod Taylor suffering a bruised left shoulder in that game.
“I have no idea,” Cantwell said Friday when asked about his future with the organization. “I don’t know what they’re going to do. I know Tyrod’s injury isn’t serious, and I know he’ll be back very soon. So I’m kind of just like everybody else. I’ll find out tomorrow.”
Cantwell spent last season on the team’s practice squad. In 2009, the former University of Louisville quarterback was a member of the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad. If he clears waivers on Saturday and Sunday, he could return to the Ravens' practice squad.
The numbers would not seem to favor Cantwell, who finished with a 42.4 passer rating after completing less than half of his passes (13-of-28) for 111 yar...
