The 1972 Dolphins might as well break out their champagne glasses early, no one's going undefeated this year. Perhaps you could have seen the Texans as one of the final three unbeaten teams in the NFL, but Arizona and Atlanta? Not unless you're a Falcons or Cardinals homer. The Texans have got the job done so far playing an awful schedule. The Broncos were their biggest test this week, and they still let them sneak back into the game in the fourth quarter. The Texans have a well rounded team, who can get the job done through the air, on...

The last minute of the game between the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars produced a two game swing in the AFC South standings. Instead of standing alone in second place at 2-1, the Colts are now jammed with the Jags and the Tennessee Titans at 1-2. The Jags were staring an 0-3 start in the face and now have some semblance of hope for 2012 with the victory on Sunday....
Matt Schaub is lucky he didn't lose his entire head. He did, however, lose a piece of his ear. The Houston Texans quarterback was the victim of a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from Denver Broncos linebacker Joe Mays on Sunday afternoon. The hit, which sent Schaub's helmet flying, shook the quarterback up and forced him to the sideline momentarily. It also left Schaub bleeding...
Former Houston Texans punter Brett Hartmann has been suspended by the NFL for an additional eight games.
He was already suspended for the first three games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
Hartmann was cut during the preseason.
Hartmann was signed by the Texans last year after going undrafted out of Central Michigan.
DENVER (AP) -- Matt Schaub outplayed Peyton Manning on Sunday, throwing four touchdown passes against a confused Denver defense to lead the Houston Texans to a 31-25 victory over the Broncos.
Schaub finished 17 for 30 for 290 yards to help Houston move to 3-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Six days after throwing three interceptions in the first quarter of a loss to Atlanta...
The Houston Texans invaded Mile High Stadium and dominated. The Texans’ offense and defense were dominant from the start and were focused on leaving Denver with a win. The Texans came out firing long on a pass to Andre Johnson to score. Matt Schaub spread the ball around to his entire receiving corps. They had very little resistance in the passing game and were able to pound the...
A baseball player gives a crooked eye to an umpire and he’s ejected. A basketball player on the bench stands up during an on-court skirmish, he’s out. Yet a football player can lay a dirty, injurious hit on an opposing player and on-field referees can only throw a flag that brings about the same 15-yard [...]
Matt Schaub's day started with a sack for a safety and ended with him getting X-rays on his aching left shoulder. In between, an illegal hit from linebacker Joe Mays sent both his helmet and a piece of his ear flying.
Despite the blood, bruises and bumps, Schaub said he felt pretty darn good.
He drew a bombardment of praise for his toughness from his teammates, his coaches...

Thanks to Cosby Swaeters, via Black Sports Online we got footage of Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub getting laid out during Sunday win over the Broncos. Not only did suffer a shot to the head, he lost a piece of his ear on the play.
Matt Schaub lost part of his ear last night during an illegal hit from Broncos line backer Joe Mays. Somehow Schaub only took off one play after the hit and he was right back in there to lead the Texans to a victory of the Broncos. I've seen the helmet fly off a few times in my day, but never a piece of someones ear. Nasty stuff right there.
DENVER -- Matt Schaub outdueled Peyton Manning even as he fought through a physical pounding that cost him a little piece of his ear. Schaub matched a career best by throwing for four touchdown passes, and the Houston Texans held off the Denver Broncos 31-25 Sunday for the first 3-0 start in the team's 10-year history. Shaking off a sack in the end zone that resulted in...
