Specifically, it's been a month -- the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, which started on Aug. 11. Friday for the first time in a month, the traditional fasting is over and Abdullah can join Muslims around the world eating and drinking during daylight hours. During Ramadan, those pleasures are passed over in celebration of the month in which the Prophet Mohammed is believed to have received the Quran.
This is nothing new for the 27-year-old Abdulla, who has done this through NFL training camps dating back to his rookie season in 2005. It's not easy; the most he can do is rinse out his mouth during the sweltering days of an Arizona summer without swallowing even the smallest drop of water.
