Kickers are usually the ones getting pummeled and run over as they kick, but somehow, Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely managed to draw a penalty in the Cardinals week 4 win over the Dolphins. The NFL fined Feely $7,875 for running down the field and hitting a Dolphins player as his kickoff had cleared the end zone and was ruled a touchback. Jay Feely, you are a bad, bad man. “On a kickoff, I’m allowed to hit him in the back and I did that and the refs talked to me later and said, ‘It was a touchback, you shouldn’t have done that,’” he said. “I didn’t know it was a touchback, I’m trying to get a block. I was just glad they didn’t score. Anytime you do that you feel responsible for putting yourself in bad field position.” The penalty cost his team 15 yards, but Feely more than made up for it when he kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime to give the Cards the win.
