National Football Post reports that the Cards are having a hard time trying to find someone to replace Gerald Hayes at inside linebacker:

Cardinals inside linebacker Gerald Hayes projects to be sidelined until some time in September. According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, the back surgery Hayes underwent last month will keep him out at least until the start of the regular season. The Cardinals have to replace Hayes, at least for the time being, along with Karlos Dansby, one of the team’s leaders who bolted for Miami in free agency. Enter Paris Lenon, a well-travelled veteran, Daryl Washington, a second-round draft pick from TCU and Monty Beisel, another veteran. It has to be a serious question for a team that wasn’t great defensively a year ago, and it’s one that needs to be monitored in preseason.
