Patriots Nation:
I'm not doubting that Larry is a classy guy, an incredible football player, but what has he proven on the football field. I'm sorry but if I compare the early part of Randy's career to Larry's career...Randy is hands down the better receiver. Larry is worth a ton, but not his current contract value and his agent is already looking at 2 yrs from now. The Cardinals are stuck with the contract that they offered, but do we have to be held hostage by there mistake. It's not as easy as opening a checkbook and writing the big check. What are we willing to give up for him. Contracts escalate and next year someone will be on the block just to keep him around. Look at what is happening to the Cards right now. They lost there big young defensive free agents because of Larry's contract...do you really want that? Are you aware of how many of our young kids are up for new contracts in 2010? Call me a long range thinker, but I'm not willing to give up the franchise for one player.
