The woeful Arizona Cardinals going up against the Detroit Lions will at least have one aspect to focus on, and that's the matchup between Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and Lions receiver Calvin Johnson. Peterson say he's ready for him, and that he'll show everybody come Sunday who the best cornerback in the league. “I think I am the best cornerback in the league right now,” Peterson told reporters during in a conference call. “You know, me and Calvin, we’re the same caliber players," he said. "You know, just he’s a receiver and I’m a DB. I just think going against him each and every play is definitely going to get me notoriety as being one of the best corners in the game, especially if I do what I need to do on Sunday. "Honestly, I would like to go one-on-one as much as I can, you know? But I believe we have a pretty good game plan and I think we’ll be ready for whatever those guys throw at us on Sunday.” While Peterson aknowledged Johnson as a premier receiver, he feels he's right behind his teammate Larry Fitzgerald. “He’s second in my book behind Larry,” Peterson said. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
