As expected, offensive tackle Levi Brown was released Tuesday by the Arizona Cardinals.
Brown, the fifth selection in the 2007 NFL Draft, was scheduled to make 17 million in 2012 if he remained on the roster under his current contract. He becomes an unrestricted free agent but could return to the Cardinals at a lower figure. Brown has started 75 games for the Cardinals over the fast five seasons.
The Cardinals also failed to reach agreement with wide receiver Early Doucet, making him an unrestricted free agent as well. Doucet, a three-year veteran, was the Cardinals' third receiver last season behind Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Roberts.
