Found April 23, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
The Arizona Cardinals are in the market for a left tackle, and they hold the No. 7 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. There are three big-name tackles available, but there’s also a chance that the trio could be off the board by the time the Cardinals are up. For this reason, Arizona has discussed Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Branden Albert, according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910. Hearing Cards have discussed OT Brandon Albert, over the wknd his agent had talks w/ Dolphins, those have stalled & KC wants a second rd pk. — Mike Jurecki (@mikejurecki) April 22, 2013 The Chiefs also need a left tackle, the position Albert mans. However, Kansas City could use their No. 1 overall selection to draft a highly regarded left tackle to plug into the position. This would make Albert expendable, and it has several teams considering him. The Miami Dolphins have also been targeting Albert as a potential fill in for former left tackle Jake Long, who signed with the St. Louis Rams this offseason. What has stalled talks between the Chiefs and the Dolphins also figures to be an issue for the Cardinals; Albert is demanding a significant contract to extend with whichever team he winds up with. For this reason, there are some – including Kent Somers of AZ Central Sports – speculating that Albert is too rich for the Cardinals’ blood.
