Cardinals sign third-round draft pick to rookie deal
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals signed third-round draft pick, tight end Tip Reiman, to a four-year rookie contract today following the first day of rookie minicamp.

Reiman becomes the highest-drafted Cardinal of their 12 picks to sign with the team after the first four signed yesterday. He was selected No. 82 overall.

The 6-foot-4, 273 pound Illinois product is the only tight end of the team’s rookie minicamp roster.

The 22-year-old, former walk-on became one of the Fighting Illini’s team captain this past season. The South Dakota native totaled 19 receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns for Illinois in 2023.

Reiman is expected to be a run-blocker in the NFL. For his four-year college career, Reiman finished with 41 receptions for 420 yards and five touchdowns across 28 games in four seasons.

The Cardinals have five other tight ends on the roster, highlighted by Trey McBride, who will be entering his third year in the league.

“If there was a scale, I’d break it,” said Reiman of his excitement level entering camp yesterday in his introductory press conference. “I’m so excited to be in a team and organization and put my head down and work.”
