Fox Sports Arizona:
After bolstering their offensive line earlier in the day with the signing of free-agent right tackle Eric Winston, the Cardinals made a move to strengthen their pass rush later Thursday, reportedly agreeing to terms with veteran defensive end John Abraham on a two-year deal.
The 35-year-old Abraham spent the last seven seasons with the Falcons and posted 68.5 sacks in that time, including a team-high 10 last year. He suffered an ankle injury late in the regular season, though, and provided little pass rush in the playoffs before being released in March.
Originally a first-round pick by the Jets in 200, Abraham has 122 sacks in his career, and even at an age at which most NFL players are in decline, he has averaged just under 11 sacks a year over the past three seasons.
The Cardinals finished 11th in the league in sacks last year but did not get much of a pass rush from their defensive line or outside linebackers; inside linebacker Daryl Washington, who has been suspended for at least the first four games of the regular season, led the team with nine sacks, and defensive end Calais Campbell (6.5) was the only other player with more than four for the year.
Financial terms of Abraham's deal have not been released.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cardinals have signed free agent defensive end John Abraham to a two-year contract.
DE John Abraham has just signed with #Cardinals, I'm told. It's a 2-year deal. And his FA odyssey is over.

Mike Jurecki is “hearing” that free agent DE/OLB John Abraham is visiting with the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Abraham, 35, remains one of the best available free agents. Although he’s coming off of a season in which he totaled 10 sacks for the Falcons defense, there has been very little buzz surrounding him in the past few months.
Previous reports indicated that Abraham’s asking...
The Arizona Cardinals, looking to bolster their defensive attack, have agreed to a two-year contract with DE/OLB John Abraham. While terms were not disclosed, Abraham should be a solid addition to the team.
Sitting with 122 career sacks, the 35-year-old should continue to play at a high level, although a limitation of his time on the field during games could come into play.
I'm pretty sure free agent John Abraham - at some point or another - visited with all 32 teams in the league, or at least it seemed he was on the full-country tour. It seems as though his patience has paid off to the tune of a 2-year, $6,000,000 deal in Arizona.

Remember that time John Abraham was in Foxborough and had a meeting with the Patriots that went so well he was supposedly checking out Range Rovers on route 1? The Arizona Cardinals have signed former Falcons DE John Abraham to a two year deal on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A day after the signing of veteran free agent Eric Winston created a host of questions about competition on the offensive line, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians offered some clarity.
Winston's signing seemed to open up the possibility that right tackle Bobby Massie could shift to left tackle, replacing Levi Brown, who missed all of last season with a torn triceps...
After the draft, I ranked the top-18 remaining free agents and John Abraham (#1) and Eric Winston (#3) were both very high on that list. The Cardinals snatched them up in one day and they both will help two very weak points on the Cardinals’ team, their pass rush and their offensive line. However, both of them are kind of odd fits. Abraham will have to move to outside linebacker...
The Arizona Cardinals have opted to waive former fourth-round pick O’Brien Schofield. The former Wisconsin star suffered an injury ankle last year that ended his season and was expendable when the Cardinals signed John Abraham to a two-year contract. Schofield, who is still young and was expected to do great things just a few short years ago should get another shot somewhere.
Free agent defensive end John Abraham and free agent offensive tackle Eric Winston are both on the Cardinals' radar going into training camp.
