Cardinals To Maintain 3-4 Scheme On Defense

Since the hiring of Bruce Arians and Todd Bowles as head coach and defensive coordinator, there has been much talk about what the team's new scheme will be. Defensive lineman Darnell Dockett has implied that it would be more of a 4-3, but was referring to his playing tackle, his natural position. Arians said he did not want to be pinned down into a particular scheme. Team president Michael Bidwill was on the radio taking to Dan Bickley and Mike Jurecki and the defensive scheme was one of the topics brought up. Bidwill said that the defense will still be a 3-4 look, but hat will move around. "It's going to be a very similar defense, but I think it's going to be a defense that shifts around a little bit," he explained on the air. Bidwill also spoke with AZCentral's Ken Somers. "It's going to be effectively the same defense, but we're going to use some different fronts," Bidwill said. "We'll switch things around up front but we'll still be a 3-4.
