Carolina has suddenly become a sexy pick to make a push towards an NFC South crown over the likes of Atlanta and New Orleans.
Steve Smith might just be the key because is an aging vet that has been dinged up recently and the Panthers can ill-afford to lose him for any games thanks to a struggling receiving corps.
Brandon LaFell is the other slated starter, but the backs are not even healthy either. That is terrible news for a team with high hopes of having a winning season.
