Carolina’s 7 Round NFL Mock DraftCheck out CJ’s site http://fpfootball.com/ and follow him on twitter @FPFootballThe Panthers do not have a 3rd or 7th Round PickRound 1 – Pick #14Kenny Vaccaro, S – TexasWhy He Fits in Carolina: The Panthers need playmakers in their secondary. They like their young CB core that steadily improved last season. However, the S position was an absolute disaster. People either love S Charles Godfrey or think he is a liability. Either way, he is the only player on the roster at S that should even be starting in the NFL.Vaccaro is the top safety in the class because he excels in coverage. He will be able to provide the defensive matchup that Panthers have lacked against elite TE’s in the NFL.Round 2 – Pick #44Jesse Williams, DT – AlabamaWhy He Fits in Carolina: This is a pretty easy analysis. The “Monstar” clogs holes and devours running backs. He is an absurdly good physical athlete and could theoretically skyrocket into discussion to be the #3 DT off the b...

Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed them that the Carolina Panthers have restructured the contact of TE Greg Olsen on Friday.
Olsen, 27, was set to make a $3.75 million base salary in 2012. $3 million of that figure has been converted into an option bonus and the remaining $750,000 will be paid out as his base salary for the upcoming season.
The Carolina Panthers have been expected to cut ties with
cornerback Chris Gamble this offseason, and that remains the case, as Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer told WFNZ-AM that “all indications I’ve
received are that he’s gone.”
It doesn't look like Gamble will be returning at a reduced
rate, either. "All indications I've received are that he's gone...
The Carolina Panthers have announced that they’ve parted ways with DT Ron Edwards on Friday.
Edwards, 33, signed a three-year deal worth $8.25 million with the Panthers back in 2011. He wound up starting only 11 games in his two seasons with the team and wasn’t all that effective when given the opportunity.
The Panthers will free up $1.67 million in cap space with this move...
The Panthers have released starting defensive tackle Ron Edwards in a move that frees up $2.5 million in salary cap space.
Carolina coach Ron Rivera said Friday that the 12-year NFL veteran ''set a great example on and off the field for our young players. We wish him well moving forward.''
Edwards started 11 games in 2012, recording 16 tackles and one sack before...

Carolina Panthers 7 Round Mock Draft by CJ MilnerBy the time the 14th pick rolls around and Carolina is on the clock, some of the players who should be their top targets will likely be gone. That list, in no particular order, includes: WR Cordarrelle Patterson, OT Lane Johnson, OG Chance Warmack, DT’s Sharrif Floyd, Sheldon Richardson, & Star Lotulelei, CB Dee Milliner, and...
Many draftniks, including myself, consider Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro to be the top safety in the upcoming 2013 NFL draft. I will save my full breakdown of Vaccaro for a later post, but should the Pittsburgh Steelers wind up selecting him, or any other top safety for that matter, in the first round, it would be only the second time in the Super Bowl era, and maybe in the entire history...
