The Wayne Fontes Experience:
Panthers will start from their 25.
Panthers 2nd and 10 from the 37...SACK! KVB gets to Newton!
3rd and long, Newton goes for it all...but gets nothing, as the ball falls harmlessly between a Panther a 2 Lions' DBs.
The kid has talent, but the accuracy is lacking.
Lions will start from their own 32, a little more than 12 minutes left.
Hand off Smith...off tackle, bounces outside...gets 19 yards! He's up to 6 carries for 86 yards on the day...I did not see this coming.
Stafford with time, Heller for the 1st down! Lions in Panthers' territory.
The Lions' offense becomes a machine. Megatron a catch for for 8, then 3 consecutive runs. Smith for 10, Morris for 9, Morris for 1, Lions 1st and goal from 4!
Smith needs 4 yards for 100 on the day...gets it and a TD on the same run!
Hard to believe Smith was out of football 2 weeks ago...
Lions take a 35-27 lead! WOOOOOOO.
Smith has his 1st 100 yard game since those halcyon days of 2009! He's up to 161 yards ...

Three weeks ago, Kevin Smith was sitting on his couch, out of the NFL. Today he scored three touchdowns to lead a Lions comeback. The running back who is now in his second stint with Detroit rushed for 140 yards and added 61 yards through the air. Smith also scored the game clinching touchdown as the Lions overcame a 17 point deficit to beat the Carolina Panthers 49-35.
ALLEN PARK, Mich. Waking up sore probably never felt so good to Kevin Smith as it did Monday morning.
He was sore from running, sore from being hit and feeling good about it.
It means he had a job running the football again, and he had done it well.
Smith was one of the stars of the Lions 49-35 victory over the Carolina Panthers at Ford Field on Sunday.
By the end of the day...
Three weeks ago, Kevin Smith was rubbish on the NFL scrap heap, an injury-prone running back with too little tread on his tires to warrant a second chance. After a career day Sunday, Smith is the reason the Lions still have playoff hopes.
Kevin Smith racked up over 200 yards of total offense and scored two touchdowns during Detroit’s comeback victory over the Panthers on Sunday. Yes, that Kevin Smith. The same Kevin Smith who was drafted by the Lions in the third round in 2008. The same one who totaled over 1,000 yards of offense in his [...]
DETROIT -- Lions receiver Calvin Johnson did not catch one of Matthew Stafford's five touchdown passes Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, but he was delighted for someone who did.
Kevin Smith, the Lions' third-round pick (64th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft, returned to his original team on Nov. 7 during the bye week. After leading the team in rushing his rookie season...
*T watches all the games so you don’t have to.” Kevin Smith Really? Listen I tweeted this week that I liked Smith as a deep sleeper and that if the Lions would come out and name him the starter this week, then we would have pumped him as a strong RB2/Flex. Oh, hindsight. Never in my wildest dreams would I ...
Kevin Smith rumbles four yards for the score and a 35-27 lead. The Lions drive took 4:34 off the clock. Carolina gets the ball with 8:02 left and all three of its timeouts. Matthew Stafford has now completed 17 of his last 19 passes since throwing those two interceptions in the first quarter.
We already detailed the Detroit Lions' 49-35 win over the Carolina Panthers, but there's a separate story well worth telling on its own. Running back Kevin Smith, who rushed for neatly 1,000 yards for the Lions in his rookie season of 2008 before injuries put his career in jeopardy.
Smith was one of Detroit's few standouts in that horrible 0-16 campaign in '08, but...
Time to push this...
Stafford has played well after his rough start, connecting on 10-11 and 2 TDs after his 2nd pick. Kevin Smith has been a godsend to the backfield, with 100 yards from scrimmage. The offense should score in the 2nd half.
But the defense has yet to right itself.
The Panthers have 85 yards on the gound, averaging 6.5 YPC. The rushing game has been the Lions&...
Automatic first down for the Lions, who are at their own 30. With a 28-27 lead, coach Jim Schwartz probably has a reason to play a little conservative. Another decent carry for Kevin Smith for a gain of 3. Smith has seven carries for 67 yards.
Fantasy Football owners in need of a running back or quarterback may be in a lot of luck this week. Searching for help on the waiver wire in Fantasy Football Week 12 is never easy. However, a few injuries have presented owners with some rare opportunities this late in the season. Related posts:

Matthew Stafford hasn't played well, but he's starting to move the ball now. Some unlikely heroes are delivering right now. Credit Nate Burleson, Rashied Davis and Kevin Smith for trying to salvage this offense. Burleson already has four catches for 39 yards.
