Panthers lose Kalil, sign Austin Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil, who took out a full-page ad guaranteeing a Panthers Super Bowl victory in July, was placed on the season-ending IR after suffering a Lisfranc injury in last Sunday's 16-12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. This is a devastating loss to a Carolina running game that had been struggling WITH Kalil snapping the ball. Head coach Ron Rivera told the Charlotte Observer that right guard Geoff Hangartner will move over to center while Jeff Byers and Garry Williams will compete to fill in at the open guard position. Browning, who was undrafted out of Ohio State in 2011, spent the majority...

That's a far cry from last season when the surprising Panthers finished seventh in total offense and fifth in points...
