Found September 19, 2012 on The Penalty Flag:
When the Carolina Panthers used the first overall pick of the 2o11 draft on Cam Newton, they expected him to perform immediately. Newton set the stats board on fire making fantasy owners ecstatic as he cruised to Rookie of the Year honors. The Panthers however; were hampered by the worst defensive line in the league and only managed to win 6, missing the playoffs for the third year in a row. Dismal as a 6-10 record may be, it was a marked improvement for a team that went 2 and 14 the year before. The 2012 Panthers want to make one thing very clear this year, the only victories they are interested in won’t be happening on a computer.… Read more

Seven reasons why the Panthers will defeat the Giants

Charlotte, NC. Week 2 in the NFL was a big one for a lot of teams, as half the league was dealing with the potential of starting the season at 0-2. This was the exact situation for the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants, as both lost their week 1 contests. Carolina bounced back with a nice home win over New Orleans, and looked very much like the team everyone saw for much...

Antrelle Rolle and Greg Olsen take out cameramen together

There was a scary moment towards the end of the New York Giants-Carolina Panthers game when Cam Newton's pass sailed over tight end Greg Olsen's head while he was being chased down by defensive back Antrelle Rolle. Both players rumbled into the sidelines taking down a couple of cameramen, respectively. Rolle tried jumping over a sitting photographer and caught his left...

Fantasy Football News: Don’t Panic on Carolina Panthers WR Brandon LaFell

I see you reaching for the “drop” button, I am begging you don’t drop Carolina Panthers WR Brandon LaFell. I know he was one of the most talked about waiver wire pickups by all the fantasy “experts”, and you bought into starting him this week, expecting a big game. I feel your pain, I started LaFell in every league I could get him in, and I was hoping for some production...

Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers look to make statement against New York Giants

The Giants head to Bank of America stadium Thursday coming off an impressive come-from-behind victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.  In the first three quarters of the game, it looked as if the defending Super Bowl champs were on their way to an 0-2 start. Eli Manning tossed 3 interceptions, one of which was returned for a defensive touchdown. With the Giants trailing...

Fantasy Football News: Fantasy Owners Should Still Sit DeAngelo Williams Even With Jonathan Stewart Unlikely To Play

The Carolina Panthers may be primed for an upset over the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football this evening. The Giants will enter play without Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw on offense, and they are coming off of a very difficult win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just four days ago. I am not saying that the Panthers had a cake walk over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but...

Carolina Panthers’ offense finds its groove in crucial home win against New Orleans Saints

There were a lot of firsts for the Carolina Panthers in their 35-27 victory against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Ron Rivera and Cam Newton were triumphant over the Saints for the first time since the pair started a new era in Charlotte last season. Newton also rushed for a career-high 71 yards on 13 carries. Charles Godfrey scored a touchdown for the first time in his five...

Panthers look to finish, just like Giants' Manning

The Carolina Panthers could learn a thing or two from Eli Manning when it comes to finishing games. After losing six games last season in which they were either tied or leading in the fourth quarter, the Panthers are still learning how to put away an opponent. It's a skill Manning has pretty much mastered. Manning, whom the Panthers will face Thursday night when they host...

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers NFL Week 3 Preview

Jim McIsaac/Getty Images Eli Manning threw for the eighth most yards in NFL history against the Bucs, but 510 yards passing is simply unheard of these days. That in itself sounds odd since this ha become a passing league where signal-callers throw for 350-plus yards passing every single week. After the year’s we saw from Manning, Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers...

Giants, Panthers set to put on show on Thursday Night Football

Manning and Newton should put up big numbers tonight. New York Giants (1-1) @ Carolina Panthers (1-1) Last week, Eli Manning and the Giants were down 27-13 in the third quarter. What did Manning do? Nothing much, just led his team on five scoring drives including two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.  He finished with 510 yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INTs. Not too shabby.  Cam...
