Carolina Panthers Restructure Offensive Tackle’s Contract

The Carolina Panthers cleared some space

The Carolina Panthers are looking to make some moves to clear some cap space for the offseason. The Panthers are wanting to sign a quarterback before the NFL draft, and the team needs to sign several players to help their chances of winning a weak NFC South next season.

The Panthers were also interested in trading for Aaron Rodgers this offseason, and his services are not cheap.

According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Panthers restructured offensive tackle Taylor Moton’s contract. They cleared $11 million with the move.

The Panthers still have some work to be done ahead of free agency next week. According to Over The Cap, the Panthers have about $7 million in cap space.

Moton has been in Carolina since the Panthers chose him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The veteran offensive tackle has two years left in his contract.
