Second-round selection, offensive lineman Amini Silatolu, was signed to a four-year contract worth $4.93 million, with nearly $3.1 million in guaranteed money.

When the Carolina Panthers drafted quarterback Cam Newton in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft wide receiver Steve Smith must have been at least a tad bit worried. Smith, a Panther since he was drafted in the third round, has seen 11 different quarterbacks since his rookie year in 2001.
In his 11 NFL seasons he has had his ups and downs with the organization, but coming off...
The Carolina Panthers have invested wisely in OLB Luke Kuechly. The former Boston College has already been deeply assimilated into the Panthers program.
As it stands now, Kuechly will play weakside linebacker which will give him the opportunity to use his shiftiness and playmaking ability to the best of his ability.

First-round draft pick Luke Kuechly has a new number and, at least for now, a new position with the Carolina Panthers.
Before his first NFL practice, Kuechly was given No. 59 - the same number coach Ron Rivera wore during his nine seasons with the Chicago Bears - and told he'll start out playing weak side linebacker. That's a change from the middle linebacker spot he played...
The Carolina Panthers enjoyed a busy Thursday, signing seven of their draft selections from last month’s NFL Draft including their top pick, LB Luke Kuechly. Kuechly, out of Boston College was the ninth player selected overall last month and to date is the highest draft pick from the 2012 class to agree to a contract so far. His contract is a four-year deal worth a reported $12...

Kuechly, the former Boston College linebacker who is the NCAA’s all-time leading tackler, agreed to a four-year contract worth $12.58 million, all of it guaranteed, according to a league source. He was the ninth...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- A person familiar with the situation says the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with each of their seven draft picks on the eve of their rookie minicamp, including linebacker Luke Kuechly, their first-round selection from Boston College.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deals have not been announced.
All seven draft picks agreed...
Some were surprised when the Panthers went for offensive line help in the second round, but drafting Amini Silatolu was actually a logical move in their eyes.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Quarterback Jarrett Brown spent the past three days doing what he loves, dropping back and firing passes to wide receivers at the Carolina Panthers' rookie minicamp. It's an opportunity he or others like him wouldn't have had a year ago -- at least not with the Panthers.
Because of the new collective bargaining agreement negotiated last year,...
