Carolina Will Have a New Offensive Coordinator in 2024

Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown becomes the third Carolina Panthers assistant that will not be retained by new head coach Dave Canales, according to a report from Joe Person of The Athletic. He joins special teams coordinator Chris Tabor and offensive line coach James Campen, who were informed they would be let go on Friday.

Brown interviewed for the head coaching job for the Tennessee Titans and has also interviewed for the offensive coordinator position in Chicago, New England, and Pittsburgh.

In his lone season in Carolina, Brown and those involved with the offense endured a lot of adversity with the long list of injuries, lack of depth, and back-and-forth handling of play-calling duties. The Panthers finished the year dead last in points per game (13.9), total offense (265.3), passing (161.2), and 20th in rushing (104.1).
