Pete Carroll doesn't look back on his time as the head coach in New England with any animosity, because the way that experience changed him eventually led to his success at USC and another chance in the NFL with Seattle.
Carroll revisits some of his NFL past this week when the Seahawks host the Patriots on Sunday in a matchup between Seattle's No. 1 ranked defense and New England's top-rated offense.
It's an opportunity for Carroll to reflect on his last NFL stop before his arrival in Seattle in 2009. Carroll coached the Patriots for three seasons before getting fired in 1999. While he was embarrassed by being dismissed, the circumstances behind his firing provided him with lessons he carried into the jobs that followed.

Seahawks' Best Defense in NFL Will Provide Dangerous Matchup for Patriots' Offense Sunday
Pete Carroll has quietly been building an immoveable force over in the Pacific Northwest and it's time to take notice. Through five games, the Seahawks lead the NFL in total defense, allowing just 258.6 yards per game. What's scarier is how well balanced the team is. They're fifth in pass yards allowed (192 per game) and third in rushing yards allowed (66.6 per game)...
Browner continuing growth with Seattle
A year after making the transition from Canadian Football League player to Pro Bowl cornerback, Brandon Browner is continuing to prove his value to the Seattle Seahawks.
Browner came up with two key plays to help the Seahawks earn their first road win of the season, a 16-12 victory over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday, including a strip and fumble recovery that helped shift the...
Terrell Owens on the Jets, Tebow, Sanchez and Romo
It’s on the record that Players View feels that Terrell Owens can still play. There is also the feeling that he creates these weird stumbling blocks for himself that for instance kept him from making the grade in Seattle.
In looking at the film that he generated as a Seahawk he had no problem getting open which is why he was targeted so much.
He just dropped crucial catches.When...
The Seattle Seahawks can do what the Giants defense does
Here's one of the more interesting story lines for this game. I've already said that this Seattle game will be the biggest test for this Patriots offense. It's the best measuring stick we'll have for if this offense is really balanced or not. I can't wait to see how the Patriots can handle this Seahawks defense in a hostile environment. It's not only because...
Seahawks' No. 1 defense eager to face Pats' No. 1 offense
"Let's go." Those were the words Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley emphasized in discussing his No. 1-ranked defensive unit taking on the No. 1-ranked offense when the New England Patriots travel west to face his team on Sunday. Bradley knows that the Patriots have good players and a good scheme on offense, led by one of the best quarterbacks in...

Rex Ryan on T.O.: 'Never say never'
After Terrell Owens took to Twitter to plead with the Jets to take a flier on him, Jets head coach Rex Ryan didn't say the team would do so but didn't rule it out, either.
Replacement ref stands by Packers-Seahawks Hail Mary call
Lance Easley may go down as one of the most infamous NFL officials of all time, and he only officiated a few regular-season games. As you probably know, Easley is the referee who ruled that Packers cornerback M.D. Jennings and Seahawks receiver Golden Tate had simultaneous possession on this Hail Mary play that gave Seattle a win over Green Bay. The replay appeared to show Easley...
Seahawks are retiring Cortez Kennedy’s number
According to John Boiyle of the Everett Herald, the Seattle Seahawks plan on retiring former offensive lineman Cortez Kennedy’s number 96 at half time of this Sunday’s game against the Patriots.Kennedy played his entire 10-year career for the Seahawks after being drafted 3rd overall in the 1990 NFL draft.
Terrell Owens Just Doesn’t Get It, His NFL Career Is Over Why Would The Jets Take Him?
If Terrell Owens were smart which we all know he is not, he would hang up his football cleats and call it a career. The Jets lining up a corner back at wide receiver isn’t desperate. Remember the guy in Dallas that played both ways? I think his name was Deion Sanders. I don’t care if Ownes took to twitter, sent a telegram, hand a note handed to Rex Ryan or what the case is. The...
Seattle defense overcomes mistakes
Considering the unique challenges the Carolina offense presented, Pete Carroll believes the Seattle Seahawks' defensive performance against the Panthers could be the best since he returned to the NFL as Seattle's coach in 2009.
The Seahawks leaned on their defense heavily in Sunday's 16-12 win over Carolina to make up for three turnovers early in the second half that...
NFL's best offense, meet NFL's best defense
That's right folks, the number one defense in the NFL is.....the Seattle Seahawks. This is most definitely the best defense that the Patriots will face thus far this year. They're a good...

Terrell Owens wants a job. He wants back in the NFL, and is constantly reminding teams of his physical ability. This past Monday night, he sent out a Tweet to the New York Jets that he was still available if they want him. They don’t want him, though Rex Ryan did say “never say never.” [...]
