Pro Football Zone:
Quarterback Carson Palmer isn’t worried about the Raiders offense as the preseason winds down. He says they just need to clean some things up.
“Obviously we haven’t done what we expected to do, but it’s not a concern,” Palmer said Tuesday via The Sacramento Bee. “We just need to clean some things up. We’ve made a handful of mistakes and hurt ourselves, but it’s not concerning.”
Palmer is encouraged that they’ve found some mistakes.
“I think that’s the main thing that’s encouraging to know is that we’ve made a bunch of mistakes and we’ve still moved the ball, but we’ve been nowhere near where we can be when we’re all clicking and on the same page,” Palmer said. “It’s just a matter of time. We just need to keep working.”
I need to see a lot out of the Raiders offense this season. They need a number one receiver to step up and they need Darren McFadden to stay healthy.

After practice today, the Oakland Raiders brought-in former Patriots defensive end Andre Carter for a workout. Currently a free agent, Carter is coming off a season-ending quadriceps injury. The Raiders are presumably looking to bolster depth on their defensive line after two so-so performances by the second and third-team defensive ends. Last season, Andre Carter [...]
Carson Palmer is running out of time to get the Oakland Raiders first-team offense into the end zone in the preseason.
The Raiders (tied for No. 23 in the AP Pro32) broke camp Thursday after spending more than three weeks in Napa, still looking for their first win and first-team touchdown of the preseason.
Palmer has been able to move the Oakland offense at times in the first two...
As the Oakland Raiders prepare to play the Detroit Lions, quarterback Carson Palmer is not concerned about the offensive production of the first team thus far in preseason. The Raiders first team offense has yet to put a touchdown on the board while they have turned the ball over several times. “Obviously we haven’t [...]

For seven years quarterback Carson Palmer played the straight-laced family man to Chad Johnson’s nutty free spirit in their rendition of the comedy The Odd Couple. If you looked closely during their heyday Palmer was in on more than a couple of Johnson’s showboating antics and pranks.
So it’s no surprise that Palmer harbors no ill-will towards him and in fact supports him...
The Oakland Raiders will take on the challenge of slowing down an explosive Detroit Lions offense in the third preseason game tomorrow. With the third preseason game widely regarded as a dress rehearsal for the regular season, the Raiders will be tested on both sides of the ball. Because the first team offense and defense will play little if any in the last preseason game...

On friday night, the Oakland Raiders flew down to Arizona to face the Cardinals as part of week 2 of the 2012 NFL pre season. At this time of the year, coaches aren’t really looking for a win or loss, but rather paying attention to players’ individual performances, as they prepare for the beginning of [...]
The Oakland Raiders concluded their 2012 training camp today in Napa, California. The team will now head back to Alameda to resume their regular practice schedule. As Oakland prepares for the Detroit Lions on Saturday night, head coach Dennis Allen was pleased with the effort in camp.
“I thought it was good work,” Allen said. “I thought we got a chance to get better. Our...
Oakland Raiders backup quarterback Matt Leinart is OK to play after injuring the index finger on his non-throwing hand but still might be held out of Saturday's game against the Detroit Lions.
Leinart, who received stitches in his finger after being knocked out by an illegal hit by Arizona's Ricky Lumpkin last week, attended practice Wednesday but did not participate in...
As the Oakland Raiders’ defense prepare for their toughest test of the preseason against the Detroit Lions, defensive coordinator Jason Tarver wants to see the defense continue to show progression. As a first year defense coordinator in the NFL, Tarver is teaching his defense to a new team, but likes what he has seen with team work and process.
“It’s all about process, it...

I know it sounds insane for the Oakland Raiders to make a play at Maurice Jones-Drew who is in a contract dispute with the Jacksonville Jaguars over money, but the Raiders backfield is lacking behind Darren McFadden. Injury issues with Taiwan Jones and Mike Goodson are not the type of things you want to hear [...]
Dear Terrelle Pryor,
First and foremost, let me say that we are honored to have you as a part of Raider Nation. You are the last person Al Davis was able to draft, so your career in the NFL will be one me and other proud members of the Nation will pay attention to until you decide to retire.
Outside of football, I think you have a big heart and are destined to be great in all aspects...
