Now that general manager Reggie Mckenzie and the Oakland Raiders will be starting over with a new head coach, it could mean quarterback Carson Palmer’s tenure in Oakland will be a short one and he could find himself looking for a new team next season.
After a rough season in 2011, after getting traded from the Bengals before the NFL’s trade deadline, Palmer wasn’t able to help the Raiders get to the playoffs like they thought he could.
Mckenzie has stated that Palmer will face some competition next season as the Raiders starting quarterback.
“Carson Palmer will not be immune to a good player…pushing him,” said McKenzie.
One could argue that if Jason Campbell didn’t suffer an injury that kept him out the rest of the season, the Raiders migh have made he playoffs.
in the end if Palmer doesn’t like his situation, he could decide to force his way out of Oakland–like he did in Cincinnati.

Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie made an appearance on 95.7 the Game in San Francisco with the Drive and stated that there was no way former Raiders head coach Hue Jackson could’ve saved his job.
“To save it? No. My mind was made up as I told him that,” said McKenzie. “My mind was made up when me and Mark Davis had talked about it. No that was...
Hue Jackson Sealed His Fate in Oakland With Forgettable End to Season As Raiders Looked to Future
Hue Jackson was fired this week by the Oakland Raiders. That sucks for him because getting fired is never fun. It's even less fun presumably when you're the head coach of an NFL football team, a job that's probably pretty cool. However, Jackson should have seen the writing on the wall, as he was more or less looking down the barrel of a 45 as new general manager Reggie...
Oakland Raiders suggest a move to Los Angeles could be in their future
Haven’t we see this before? The Oakland Raiders suggest that a move to Los Angeles for the franchise could be in their future. Like father, like son. The firing of Jackson did not come as a huge surprise...
Signs point to Raiders switching to 3-4 defense
For the past few years now the question of whether the Raiders would be switching to a 3-4 defensive scheme. Well, it appears there is some evidence that suggests that time may have finally come.
The most recent clue we got for this switch came from new General Manager Reggie McKenzie. I asked him during the Raiders' press conference whether his experience in the 3-4 and the...

What Really Lead To Hue Jackson’s Firing?
Allow me for a moment to walk the Raider Nation through a timeline of Hue Jackson’s tenure with the Raiders. 2010 Al Davis hires Hue Jackson to revamp an offense that hadn’t been good in many years. With the aide of competent quarterback play and a healthy Darren McFadden, Jackson is wildly successful in his first year. 2011 [...]
DALY: NFL coaching pool seems to have dried up
ANALYSIS/OPINION: The Oakland Raiders fired their coach Tuesday — a brave move, to say the least. After all, when you get rid of your coach, it means you have to find another, and the supermarket shelves aren't exactly overflowing with quality candidates. In fact, you could make the case that ...
