Jeff McLane of Philly.com is reporting that Riley Cooper and Cary Williams got into a fight during today’s Eagles practice (Credit: CBSNews.com) Earlier this summer, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper was caught on camera calling other people the N-word during a Kenny Chesney concert. The NFL responded to the viral video by not suspending Cooper and the Eagles chose to fine him. Cooper also took some time off from the team to receive some counseling. Today, it looks like Cooper is getting into more trouble with the Eagles. According to Jeff McLane of Philly.com, Riley Cooper and corner back Cary Williams got into a fight today, that required several players to break it up. Williams had to be forcibly pulled away from Cooper and then took time to himself on another practice field. McLane adds, “Cooper looked visibly distraught and stayed out of one-on-one drills that involved receivers and defensive backs until DeSean Jackson came over to him. Jackson eventually walked over to Williams and had a conversation.” Cary Williams was one of the players who was public about having a problem with what Cooper said during the concert but was willing to welcome Cooper back to the team. It appears that Williams and Cooper still have problems with one another and those problems spilled over onto the field today. Cary Williams for lack of a better phrase is a sh*t starter.
I don’t know if that will be good or bad for the Eagles in the long run, but in the short term, I don’t think he is having a positive effect on the team.
He has gotten into a few scuffles this offseason and at a time where they Eagles need to be coming together, he is pulling them apart.
This has always been my problem...

Mmmm. So two Eagle’s players get in a tussle at practice and one of them happens to be Riley Cooper. While it’s all speculative, one can only assume what sparked Cary Williams’s beef with Cooper.
According to Philly.com, here’s what went down,
Williams threw punches at Cooper and had to be forcibly pulled away after he went back after the wide receiver after the initial...
> Neither man was hurt from the funsies, or missed any amount of practice team
> Neither man is very likely to play a very big role on the next Eagles playoff team (earliest ETA 2014)
> It really does not seem like either man came into the event with an agenda, and probably just got into each other because they are both, well, demonstrable and verified idiots...
Fights during practice don’t usually mean much — it’s just guys blowing their tops for a minute during rehearsals that can be physical, whether the NFL likes it or not. However, the Thursday scuffle between two Philadelphia Eagles — receiver Riley Cooper and cornerback Cary Williams — might be indicative of larger issues. Quarterback Michael Vick was the one breaking up...

On Thursday I went from wondering if the fight between Riley Cooper and Cary Williams was a normal practice scuffle, to believing that there was more to it once I saw the video. And now, an unnamed Eagles player has stepped forward with information backing my belief.
According to this player, the fight was definitely related to the video that surfaced of Cooper using racial slurs...
Mike Vick wasn’t pleased about how the fight went down in today’s Eagles practice between Riley Cooper and Cary Williams. He told Philly.com:

Eagles coach Chip Kelly said there's no fall-out after Thursday's scuffle between Riley Cooper and Cary Williams and that it quickly went away. “We went right back to team period and both those guys lined up and played" Kelly said. So I don’t see...
