Cedric Griffin just got back into the line-up a couple of weeks ago after a long off-season recovering from a torn ACL.  Griffin’s comeback, sadly, proved short-lived:  Last night the cornerback tore the ACL in his other leg, and will miss the remainder of the season.

If you were watching the game, you could tell by Griffin’s reaction that he knew right away something was bad wrong with his leg.  After the game he was seen hobbling around on crutches.  Today he had an MRI, and got the official word.

Obviously, this is a tough blow for Cedric, who worked his butt off getting back from last year’s injury.  As for the Vikings…as it was during the first few games of the season, they are down to three healthy corners, Antoine Winfield, Asher Allen and Lito Sheppard.  Rookie Chris Cook is battling his own knee issues and is expected to miss at least one more game.  The Vikes were able to survive the first couple weeks with only three corners, but obviously, that is not something you want to keep trying to pull off.
