EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway is schedule to have microscopic knee surgery on Tuesday to alleviate some "tension" in his knee, coach Leslie Frazier announced Tuesday.
Greenway, one of the team's defensive leaders, was among several big-name players missing from Minnesota's organized team activities, and Frazier said after practice that the Pro Bowl linebacker will have clean-up surgery and is expected back for training camp at the end of July.
"He won't miss any training camp or anything like that," Frazier said. "Just wanted to get it done now rather than run into a situation where we get to camp and it continues to bother him, and we'd have some issues we'd have to deal with there."
Greenway, who has been to the Pro Bowl the past two seasons, has led the Vikings in tackles each of the past five seasons. He had been participating in the voluntary OTAs when the knee started to act up.
