Philly Sports Nut:
New England Patriots
Chad Johnson would disgrace the Eagles if he ever put on the uniform.
As I previously stated the Eagles injuries at wide receiver are starting to mount. Jeremy Maclin has a hip injury. Fellow starter DeSean Jackson is nursing a hamstring strain. Riley Cooper is recovering, albeit close to fully healed, from a broken collarbone. That leaves career practice squad player who the Eagles initially cut, Mardy Gilyard and undrafted free agent Damaris Johnson as players who the Eagles must now rely on. They both have major upside, but offer little experience and are very unproven.
This has led Andy Reid and Howie Roseman to make a rash move to bring in the artist formerly known as Chad Ochocinco. Now known as Chad Johnson once again, he has been cut from the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. Both of those teams don’t exactly scream loaded at wide receiver. Johnson may have been an incredible talent at one point, but his aging body is starting to give up on him. However, Johnson’s worst attribute is from the neck up. For every Peyton Manning with a football IQ through the roof there is a Johnson, who has zero ability to learn a playbook in an entire offseason let alone 5 days.
Not only does he not have ability to learn a play book, but his attitude doesn’t promote what the Eagles have been about this entire year either – tough team. Just look at his most recent tweet “5 hours past my bed time… if I miss this flight to Philly in the morning it’d definitely be a pisstified moment…” Seriously Johnson? That’s what you want to portray to the home of brotherly love and the blue collar worker? I hope you break an ankle in your workout - honestly who headbutts their wife? Go home and never come back to Philadelphia. You don’t deserve to wear Eagles’ green which has been so proudly worn by the likes of Steven Van Buren, Brian Dawkins and Reggie White.

It defies logic—the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles have been able to overcome nine turnovers in two games to secure wins and and move to 2-0 record to start the 2012 season. Pulling off this rare feat has been dificult—a single point secured the victory in both games, the first time this has happened in successive contests in NFL history. But as we...
Eagles vs. Cardinals Week 3 Preview
Both the Eagles and Cardinals are feeling good about themselves after posting impressive victories last weekend. Can Philadelphia keep momentum high with a win over Arizona in Week 3?
So that’s now two Eagles wins to start the season, albeit two wins that were both decided by a solitary point.
A week after escaping with a 17-16...
According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the Philadelphia are preparing rookie quarterback Nick Foles to step in, if Michael Vick struggles or gets injured.
“Is Andy Reid secretly getting rookie QB Nick Foles ready in case Michael Vick crumbles? League spies say that alarm bells sounded loudly when Reid (for the first time in 14 years in Philly) abruptly made practice off limits to...
Eagles center Jason Kelce is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury suffered Sunday, according to CSNPhilly.com's Derrick Gunn. Kelce, who has started all 18 games of his career, was injured in the third quarter against Baltimore. Dallas Reynolds entered the game for his first career regular-season action and is the likely replacement in the starting...

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said one official discussed his fantasy football team with him during Sunday’s game. “I’ll be honest,” McCoy told 94WIP on Monday, “[the replacement officials are] like fans. One of the refs was talking about his fantasy team, like ‘McCoy, come on, I need you for my fantasy.’” These refs gotta...
5 + 4 = 2.Somehow, improbably, the Philadelphia Eagles have 2 wins despite turning the ball over 9 times in eight quarters. It’s one thing to overcome sloppy play to beat Cleveland (as Philadelphia did in Week 1), but it’s somewhat shocking to be able to overcame those same mistakes against a team that bills itself as a Super Bowl contender. But that’s just what the Eagles...
Rich Schultz /Getty ImagesThis whole replacement referee is becoming more of a disaster by the day. The blown calls, the games being dragged out because refs don’t know the rules.A replacement referee was recently removed from a game because he was a fan of the team was assigned to ref.On Monday, more sour news came out about the NFL easily impressed replacement officials.CBS...
Could the rumor be true? With receiver Jeremy Maclin fighting an injury, it only makes sense for the Eagles to bring in a new addition to the wide receiver spot. Chad Johnson might have some trouble past, but the Eagles will serve as his rehabilitation center. The Eagles coaching staff has had alot of experience with discarted players trying to re build their image. he would have...
The NFL has had its share of famous mustaches over time. Mike Ditka, Joe Namath and Walter Payton all made the mustache part of their iconic look. Now whiskers are again gaining buzz around the league. Head coaches Andy Reid and Jeff Fisher have both seen their mustaches get attention this season. Fisher, head coach for the St. Louis Rams, has been nominated for the Robert Goulet...
It may not be how you would have drawn up a 2-0 start for the Philadelphia Eagles, but it counts just the same. After their second one point win in two games, the only team to do so in NFL history, the Eagles sit atop the NFC East. The truth is, they have yet to play a good game.
With 4 more turnovers against a good Baltimore Ravens team, you would think the Eagles would be licking...
It figures---the rare Sunday you only dress 7 offensive linemen for a game, and two of 'em get knocked out of the game.
In fact, missing from Vick's final-drive huddle were Center Jason Kelce, left tackle King Dunlap and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin who had all left the game with injuries. They were replaced by a former practice squad member (Dallas Reynolds), a player...
After another tough battle filled with costly turnovers, Michael Vick led the Eagles to their second straight comeback 4th quarter win over the Baltimore Ravens. Deep into the 4th quarter, the Eagles trailed the Ravens 23-17 before the offense took the field for their final drive of the game and last chance to put the Birds on top. After quick completions to Brent Celek and Clay...
