And the NFL won't waive the cap hit. That would be an unfair advatange. These cap hits are there to keep teams from just trading anyone at anytime they want. Its part of the system that keeps an NFL team from buying a dynasty. No one wants a New York Yankees type of football team.

After the recent Chris Henry news, it is IMPOSSIBLE to watch this transaction ever occur. The Bengals are not going to lose 8 million in their cap, and release two of their three WR's in your off-season. It would be practical to watch the loss of Chad if a deal was generated, however the loss of two starting WR's is a step in the wrong direction. I endorse whole heartedly being aggressive and aggravating a trade, however at this point I believe the Bengals are too crippled right now to watch a premier player like Johnson slip through their hands.

I agree Eaglesfan20, They have two choices, to try and rebuild the team, or try and appear in control. Those draft boards will be mighty persuasive, but if Chad is really the "protagonist" in this situation, Marvin Lewis may be the egotistical visionary in this scenario, and he expressed no intentions to let Chad go. It is almost the muddiest situation for them. They can't afford to lose another WR, but if they keep Chad, chances are he won't play hard. Even if he plays hard, without Chris Henry their offense will not be as productive. And their defense is bent. The Bengals are down sh*ts creek...
