Good luck to Ted Thompson as he whittles down the current Packers roster to 53 players. We seem to say the same thing every year about the Green Bay Packers’ training camp roster: it’s going to be hard to make some of these cuts. There’s just so much talent across the positions, how do you decide who to keep? After looking at what Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy have done in the past, it’s becoming (slightly) easier to predict what they’re going to do in the future. Before getting to the roster, here are the three big ideas I settled on in cutting down the roster: The Packers are going to keep five wide receivers. There are needs elsewhere, and none of the other receivers have really proven themselves to be worthy of an extra slot just for them. The defensive positions are deeper. Especially for the sake of special teams, I believe the Packers will skew their average numbers towards the defense this year. Some players are going to be stashed on the PUP/IR lists for next year. There’...

Packers Stock Report: Roster Bubble Edition

Packers LB Jamari Lattimore is rising. It’s time to bring back the Packers stock report. I’m back in my blogging chair after spending three booze-fueled days and nights in Madison, Wis. I gained about 10 pounds and reduced the functionality of my liver by about 7 percent. A typical weekend in Madison. The only way to get my body back to where it was pre-Madison is to type a couple...

Aaron Rodgers certainly wasn't doing a celebration after this interview.  While taking questions from the media, there wasn't just microphones in his face.  Packers' Fullback John Kuhn weaved through the reporters like they were the defensive line and managed to give Rodgers a face full of shaving cream (he was probably due for a shave anyways).I wonder if Rodgers will...

However, with Green still somewhat limited 10 months after tearing his ACL, Benson will likely get...

Packers CB Davon House’s Shoulder Injury Won’t Require Surgery

For now, it doesn’t appear surgery will be necessary for Davon House to get back on the football field. Following Sunday’s practice, the Green Bay Packers’ second-year cornerback said the left shoulder subluxation he sustained in the team’s first preseason game against San Diego on Aug. 9 shouldn’t require surgery unless it happens to pop out again. At that point, surgery...
