I have a bunch of stuff to post, but I had to let it all slide for a couple hours in order to share this amazing story from the Palm Beach Post. It highlights my boy, Channing Crowder (former Florida Gator and current Miami Dolphin), and his hopefully joking attitude. When asked about the upcoming game in London, England against the New York Giants, Crowder had this to say: "I couldn't find London on a map if they didn't have the names of the countries, I swear to God. I don't know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that. I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him. That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name." "He's [Dolphin's practice squad receiver, Marvin Allen] from London? I knew he was from over there because he talks funny. I was surprised (when they met) because ??" I don't want to say he didn't look the part because that's a stereotype ??" but he didn't look the part. I heard him talk, and I thought he had a recorder and was just mouthing." Somewhere in the interview, he also mentioned that he didn't know until Tuesday that people spoke English in London [Crowder learns he won't need translator in London]. I figured that I might as well help a brother out. So here you go Channing?a map of Europe just for you. London is located in the UK, which is colored blue (I feel like I am in a Southwest Airlines commercial). Map of Europe -Darren Heitner

  • Isn't he the one who answers questions he doesn't know with something like "How should I know I didn't graduate college?"
  • Hilarious! You count always count on the U of M geography staff letting athletes slide through the system.
  • um...that would be the U of F, as in Florida. it's bad enough what he did, but then you speak up and show you know nothing either!
  • University of Morons (any school below the Mason Dixon line) aka Florida University. It's a phrase here in New Jersey aka Jersey.
  • You all have to realize that the man has a sense of humor and is being a smart ass. If you think he's not joking around and really doesnt know where london is and think teamates carry around tape recorders and mouth to them I think you should be questioning your own intelligence instead of his. I think his comments are hilarious. If his comments were true instead of funny he would be so dumb they would have to hire someone to chew his food for him. Unlikely. I can't wait till he does another interview.
  • As a Brit myself, I find it hilarious that you draw attention to this person's stereotypically American lack of knowledge concerning anything outside of your own country.

However, the grammatically incorrect and altogether stupid American habit of removing words from statements ("but I had to let it all slide for a couple hours" instead of "a couple OF hours) is just as "retarded" (as you "folks" are so fond of saying).

Please improve your standard pre-college level ENGLISH and geography teaching methods, take your heads out of your arses and realise that America is not the world.

    That is all.
