  • A.J. Smith of the Chargers convinced the Spanos Family (owners) that he was more valuable than the coach. Wrong! A.J. Smith got his job on the coattails of John Butler, whose job he inherited once Butler passed away a few years ago. Turning a 14-2 team into a team that may or may not win 8 games this year is not easy to do. Congratulation A.J. Smith and Spanos family for making sure the San Diego Chargers remain a mediocre team. Not easy to do considering all the talent on that team.
