Chargers CB Antoine Cason took snaps with the first team during warm-ups on Tuesday, a strong indication he will start on Thursday against the Raiders. Cason lost his starting job at right corner to CB Marcus Gilchrist (second round, 50th overall pick) two weeks ago. Gilchrist, however, has struggled in the last two games. Coach Norv Turner said both will play against the Raiders.

Whatever You Say Mr. Spikes, Sir

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsTJV6GmURk The most frightening thing from ESPN’s 30 for 30 documentary “Roll Tide/War Eagle”, chronicling the storied Iron Bowl rivalry, wasn’t the animosity of the combatants toward one another or the heightened levels of obsessions of each’ fan base, no, the most frightening aspect of the entire presentation was Takeo Spikes’s neck...

Chargers look good, not very reliable

Thursday Night in San Diego with the first mid-week game in the NFL we have a major contest that will go a long way in determining the fate of the AFC West division when the Oakland Raiders travel down south for the first of two meetings with the San Diego Chargers. I look at the Chargers and see a wildly expensive Italian sports car. While I've never had the privilege of owning...

Team Source Says Chargers TE Antonio Gates "Looks Old And Fat"

The slumping San Diego Chargers are dealing with plenty of problems these days, but we didn't think to count All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates among them. But one team source singled out Gates in diagnosing the ills that have befallen the 4-4 Chargers. “It’s harsh to say, but he looks old and fat,” the source told Yahoo! Sports in a story posted Monday. “He’s not beating people...

Philip Rivers Sucks Because He Had Too Many Kids

Last year this time he was considered one of the elites and now he is not even in the conversation. If it's not an injury and it's not a lack of preparation then it must be an off-the-field issue. My guess would be that he just welcomed his sixth kid to the world.

Chargers WR Floyd listed as doubtful

San Diego Chargers wideout Malcom Floyd was listed as doubtful for Thursday's AFC West showdown with the Oakland Raiders. Floyd is nursing a hip injury which caused him to miss last week's game against the undefeated Green Bay Packers. Rookie Vincent Brown stepped in and played a season-high 59 snaps opposite Vincent Jackson. Chargers coach Norv Turner said after Wednesday...

Chargers owner concedes Philip Rivers having 'off year'

Floyd, Phillips doubtful for Chargers

The Raiders’ key injuries in advance of Thursday night’s game were posted earlier in the hour. Now for the Chargers. And the news could be better; receiver Malcom Floyd (hip) and linebacker Shaun Phillips (foot) are both doubtful to play. As expected, defensive lineman Luis Castillo (tibia) and guard Kris Dielman (concussion) are out.  Probable…

Chargers owner gives candid assessment on Rivers' performance

Chargers owner Dean Spanos didn't sugarcoat his answer when asked about Philip Rivers on Sunday. “Sometimes you just have an off year,” he said. “That is what Phillip Rivers is having so far.”
