Chargers shut down Atari Bigby
The original prognosis for San Diego Chargers safety Atari Bigby was 3 to 5 weeks for his groin injury suffered in their Sunday loss to the Ravens, but now the team has decided it's not worth trying to bring him back this season. He was placed on season-ending IR today, the team announced.
Chargers lose S Bigby for season with groin injury
The San Diego Chargers placed strong safety Atari Bigby on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday because of a groin injury and signed linebacker Bront Bird.
Bigby, who started all 11 games, was hurt in the first half Sunday in a 16-13 overtime loss to Baltimore.
Bird played in nine games with the Chargers in 2011 after making the squad as an undrafted rookie from Texas Tech. He...
Chargers place Bigby on IR, sign Bird
Veteran safety Atari Bigby was placed on season-ending injured reserve, the San Diego Chargers announced Tuesday. The seventh-year player, who injured a groin muscle in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, was second on the team with 68 tackles. To take his roster spot, the Chargers re-signed linebacker Bront Bird, who was with the Chargers last season. The undrafted free...
Chargers WR Vincent Brown To Return Soon?
Vincent Brown reportedly is running well, but will he be able to play for the San Diego Chargers this season?
UT-San Diego reports that the second-year receiver, who suffered a broken ankle in the preseason, is nearly at full speed. The team had hoped Brown would be back near mid-season, but his recovery has taken longer.
There are only five games left in the season. Still...
Chargers OG Johnnie Troutman, OT Brandyn Dombrowski Moved From PUP To IR
On Wednesday, Chargers rookie guard Johnnie Troutman and tackle Brandyn Dombrowski were moved from the physically unable to perform list (PUP) to season-ending injured reserve. The move was expected.
As PUP members, both were allowed a three-week practice window, at the end of which the team was required either to activate them onto the 53-man roster or declare them out for the...
Bengals-Chargers to be blacked out in SoCal
The San Diego Chargers say their game Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals will be blacked out in Southern California because nearly 11,000 general admission tickets remained unsold at Thursday's deadline.
It will be the second straight blackout and third this season for the Chargers (4-7) who are nearing elimination from playoff contention for the third straight season.
The...

The Chargers will be without their second-leading tackler for at least a while.
Strong safety Atari Bigby suffered a groin injury Sunday that further testing has confirmed to be "pretty bad," a source said Tuesday. He is expected to miss three to five weeks.

San Diego Chargers fan celebrates sack by guiding Ravens fan's head into his crotch (Video)
During last Sunday's San Diego Chargers/Baltimore Ravens affair, a sack by Chargers rookie Corie Liuget turned a little flagrant for one Baltimore Ravens fan who might have received an unexpected face full of jeans.
Keep eye on the San Diego fan at the eight second mark as he guides a Ravens fan's head right near his crotch:
We pray that those fans know each other...
Chargers Likely To Be Blacked Out, Again
The Chargers will play Sunday in San Diego, and the game won't be televised in Southern California.
At least, it appears that will be the case when the Chargers host the Bengals this weekend. About 12,000 general tickets are still unsold for the game, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Barring an unexpected box-office binge or help from corporate sponsors, this will the...

About 11,000 tickets remained unsold 72 hours prior to the 1:25 p.m. PT kickoff. Cincinnati Bengals at San Diego Chargers: Week 13 NFL Pick
Cincinnati Bengals (6-5) at San Diego Chargers (4-7)
Last week, I took the Chargers for a big play for several reasons. Philip Rivers was 31-19 ATS in week 11 or later. In the last 3 years, as mediocre as they’ve been, they were still 10-5 ATS in week 11 or later, including a cover the week before in Denver. As underdogs, as they were last week, Rivers was 12-4 ATS in week 11 or...
