Receivers Denario Alexander and Malcolm Floyd and linebackers Jonas Mouton and Manti Te'o are just four of the players who've been hit with the injury bug. Alexander is out for the season after an ACL tear, while Mouton suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Floyd landed horribly while trying to make a catch and is out indefinitely with a sprained knee, while Te'o's foot sprain will keep him out of Thursday night's exhibition in Chicago. He'll be re-examined following the Bears' game and could be back at practice next week. Is this any way for a rookie head coach to begin his first season? McCoy laughed and then spoke the words he's come to memorize and learned to hate: ...

2013 NFL Scouting: The Time is Now for Keenan Allen in San Diego

Just a few weeks ago, Phillip Rivers had to feel pretty optimistic about the weapons he'd be going into battle with for the 2013 NFL season. Floyd's knee sore after injury scare

Seeing Malcom Floyd crumpled on the ground with a knee injury, Philip Rivers thought he might have thrown his final pass to the 10-year veteran. Floyd thought the same thing. Floyd and the Chargers got good news when an MRI exam revealed a strained knee, not a more serious injury like the one that will sideline fellow starting wide receiver Danario Alexander for the year. Floyd...

Bolts' Malcom Floyd 'dodged a bullet' on knee injury

Malcom Floyd had a smile on his face at San Diego Chargers training camp Tuesday. It was as good a sign as any that the wide receiver had escaped disaster. The Chargers reportedly feared Floyd had suffered a season-ending knee injury after he crumpled to the turf during practice Monday. It would have been a calamitous setback for the Chargers who still are dealing with the fallout...
