Found February 25, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Phillip Rivers Kevin Acee of Union-Tribune San Diego writes that the Chargers should consider trading QB Philip Rivers if they are not willing to make drastic upgrades to their offensive line. Acee asked a ”half-dozen agents and assistant coaches” about the idea at the Combine and no one disagreed with his reasoning. Rivers is an obvious pocket passer, so he needs adequate protection to be effective. Acee points to the fact that Rivers accounts for $17 million of the Chargers’ 2013 salary cap as the main reason why they need to address their offensive line now, versus going with a balanced approach towards building their roster. Rivers was sacked 50 times last season and there’s no guarantee that OT Jared Gaither will be brought back. They could take a big step forward by re-signing G Louis Vasquez and grabbing one of Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher or Lane Johnson in the first round. It’s hard to say what kind of market the Chargers would find for Rivers, but it’s just a speculative idea...

Chargers 2013 defensive draft needs

The strength of the 7-9 season for the San Diego Chargers was on defense, but five starters on defense will become unrestricted free agents in 2013. Antoine Cason, Aubrayo Franklin, Quentin Jammer, Vaughn Martin and Shaun Phillips. That means we need to examine the Chargers 2013 defensive draft needs with the assumption that most of those players will be gone. The needs are as follows...

Chargers GM Tommy Telesco says the Chargers have to get better around Phillip Rivers

After starting Chargers quarterback Drew Brees went to the New Orleans Saints following the 2005 season, Rivers came off the bench to lead the Chargers to a 14-2 record in his first season as a starter. It seems like a long time ago in San Diego when they were considered the most talented team in the NFL. The Chargers are now lacking talent at many positions, none more important...

Colts Prepared To Make A Run For Chargers’ G Louis Vasquez

According to Kevin Acee of the Union-Tribune San Diego, the Indianapolis Colts “will make a run” make a run for Chargers G Louis Vasquez during free agency. The Chargers would prefer to keep Vasquez by way of a long-term extension...

NFL Scouting Combine winners and losers: WR

NFL wide receiver prospects and the NFL Scouting Combine go together like peas and carrots. 2013 NFL Draft: Power Ranking The Top 5 Wide Receivers Prospects

The 2013 NFL Draft won’t feature a huge crop of wide receivers who will make their way into the first round unlike past years. Like the quarterback prospects and running back prospects, this year’s class of pass catchers might feature only one true first rounder. Maybe two if things fall into place and players help their stock at the Combine. Who will those players be? We’ll...

Combine This! ...who moved up on Eagles' scouting charts?

A few light bulbs got brighter for the Eagles scouting staff at the Combine over the weekend.... No doubt Blasphemizer's boy Cordarrelle Patterson (WR, Tennessee) opened some eyes... No way you draft a wideout in the first round if you're the Eagles, but package a trade-back deal here and there, or get lucky in a later round, and I could see Patterson in midnight (or...
