The San Diego Chargers are hoping receiver Malcolm Floyd and running back Ryan Mathews can play when the team hosts the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers Sunday.Floyd and Mathews did not practice Friday and are officially listed as questionable, however, local media reports suggest the team is optimistic both will be in action in Week 9. Both players will likely go through pre-game checks before a final decision is made before kickoff.Floyd has missed three straight days of practice with foot and hip injuries. He has caught 19 balls for 401 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season.Mathews has been hampered by a groin injury suffered in last week’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s rushed for 509 yards on 111 carries and three touchdowns. The Chargers will have tight end Antonio Gates on the field Sunday. Gates, who has missed time with a foot injury, has played the past two weeks and has 201 yards receiving and one touchdown this season.
