San Diego Chargers rookie outside linebacker Melvin Ingram sustained a thigh injury in the third quarter of Friday's 12-10 exhibition win at the Minnesota Vikings. Chargers coach Norv Turner said in the San Diego Union-Tribune that Ingram's injury is a "deep thigh bruise" and is not considered serious. Ingram, a first round draft choice, had to be helped off the field after staying down for three minutes. He did not return to the game. "That (hit) hurt," Ingram said before taking X-rays. The Chargers were already without running back Ryan Mathews, who sustained a broken clavicle in the first exhibition game. They also lost wide receiver Vincent Brown with a broken ankle in the second game. Mathews is out four to six weeks while Brown is out at least eight weeks. Both had surgery.

Offensive Line Fantasy Value of the San Diego Chargers

If you look up the definition of the word “underachiever” in the dictionary you will see the San Diego Chargers Football Team with sheepish grins on their faces while shrugging their shoulders.  The Chargers can almost be counted on to struggle off the hop, in the middle or at the end of each season.  Injuries play a big part, but the biggest problem is that you can’t make...

Antonio Gates is the heathliest he’s ever been

AP According to Scott Bair of the North County Times, the Chargers will hold out both quarterback Philip Rivers and tight end Antonio Gates for tonight’s preseason game. Bair wrote; “Given that Gates is as healthy as he’s ever been, the risk of changing that was too great, especially when so many Vikings starters will be playing for an extended period.” If Gates can stay...

Rivers, Gates Will Sit in Week Three Pre-Season Game Vs. Vikings

San Diego Chargers coaches have decided to sit starting QB Philip Rivers and star TE Antonio Gates. This decision is most likely in light of the  two losses of key offensive weapons in two weeks of pre-season play. However, the decision is also two fold. They most likely chose to sit those two particular players not only because they are so important to the offense, but because...

Preseason Pics of the Chargers Girls

Preseason NFL football is upon us.   And as Marv Albert will say,  “we’ve reached extensive garbage time.”  Seriously, pre-season football is nearly as uninteresting as pre-season baseball.   However, you’ve always got to find a little good in everything right?  Of course! And what’s better than what I would consider to be the best cheerleading squad in the entire...
