According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, the San Diego Chargers have signed fifth-round rookie quarterback Jonathan Crompton to a four-year deal with a total maximum value of $2.675 million if he triggers a fourth-year escalator clause, according to a league source.
That includes base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000 as well as a signing bonus.
"It's a great fit for Jonathan in San Diego," said Crompton's agent, Joel Turner. "I couldn't be happier for him. He's going into a great situation with Norv Turner coaching him and there's no pressure on him. I'm excited for Jonathan and I know he's going to do a great job."
