Cornerback Chris Carr has signed a one-year contract with the San Diego Chargers. He'll be added to the active roster on Wednesday, when the Chargers will have to make a corresponding move. Carr has played with the Oakland Raiders, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens. He was in training camp with the Minnesota Vikings before being released prior to the regular season. Carr joins the Chargers as they prepare to face former teammate Drew Brees and the winless Saints on Sunday night in New Orleans. Brees threw for 446 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-27 loss at Green Bay on Sunday.

Chargers week 4 unit grades

QB – Philip Rivers – BRivers had a pretty efficient game and only made 3 pretty bad passes, 1 he tried to force to Royal in the endzone, 1 he underthrew an open Meachem deep and another to Meachem was picked off.   Other than that he had 2 TD passes and completed 78% of his passes.  While he wasn’t outstanding, Rivers did more than enough to win the game, and not enough to...

San Diego Chargers: Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#8)

Last week: 8 (-1) Record: 3-1 The Chargers finish September with a 3-1 record for the 2nd year in a row, something they hadn’t done in the Norv Turner era prior to last year. However, much like last year, they beat up on crappy teams in September and got blown out against the only good team they faced. They started last year 4-1 before losing 6 straight and eventually barely making...

Ryan Mathews demoted on Chargers depth chart

The San Diego Chargers have moved Jackie Battle ahead of Ryan Mathews on the teams depth chart. The reason according to the Chargers is because Battle started last week. Mathews has seen his playing time take a hit due to his penchant of fumbling....
