The San Diego Chargers signed linebacker Kevin Bentley to a one-year deal on Wednesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Chargers may be looking for insurance in the wake of Stephen Cooper's torn right biceps injury.
Cooper suffered his injury during Sunday's preseason victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
A 10-year veteran, Bentley collected 55 tackles and one interception in 13 games last season with the Houston Texans.
